COO role begins a major growth phase for Mobility Development
Mobility Development (MD) is the market leader in planning, building, and operating equitable shared mobility. Our team works with cities, transit agencies, non-profits, and technology firms to build programs focused on disadvantaged communities. Our team has worked with partners to build over a dozen mobility networks nationally since 2008, and our primary platform, MDO Carshare, is used in ten states.
MD is pleased to announce the recruitment of James Delgado as their new Chief Operating Officer. CEO Creighton Randall “I’m thrilled that someone of James’ caliber sees such potential in our model. Mobility Development is now supporting equitable carshare models throughout the country, and James’ experience will take us to the next level.” From 2017 to 2020, James managed the first and largest EV carsharing programs in Los Angeles and Indianapolis. He was pivotal in the development of BlueLA, a model for providing affordable and clean transportation alternatives to Los Angeles residents, with an emphasis on disadvantaged communities.
James came on as a consultant to Mobility Development in late 2023 to help lead community based EV carsharing projects and support efforts to grow and enhance Mobility Developments’ footprint and service offerings.
Prior to coming to Mobility Development, in his role as the VP of Business Development at Blue Systems, James managed two of the most significant smart mobility and data aggregation programs in partnership with LADOT (Los Angeles) and NYCDOT (NYC). James managed partnerships with these Departments of Transportation that allowed cities to create/change policies and monitor how micromobility (scooters, robots and carshare vehicles) moved around these cities James represented Blue Systems with industry organizations including The Open Mobility Foundation and The International Parking & Mobility Institute.
He is an experienced managing director with a wealth of experience in start-ups, expansion and scaling of businesses in the US, Canada and Europe. James’ diverse work history has made him a transformational leader with broad experience in team building, new market development, business turnaround, cost control, revenue growth, P&L, operations, internal and external communications. MD is confident that James’ passion for innovative mobility will encourage new partnerships and collaborations throughout the country, strengthen and improve current programming, and support increased mobility options in communities that need them the most.
