About

STL Carshare is a growing community-based Electric Vehicle (EV) carshare program operating in cities across Charlotte. 

Members have access to a network of cars 24/7 for $5 per hour and $50 per day (plus applicable taxes). Insurance is Included.

STL Carshare is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, and is a partnership between Forth, Mobility Development, and local partners like the Urban League, McCormick Baron Salazar, and the Belleville Library. Carsharing delivers affordable and clean transportation with a focus on historically disinvested communities in need of more transportation options. 

Run your errands,  get to appointments, visit family and much more in a STL Carshare electric vehicle.

How it Works

Accessing STL Carshare is easy! Just follow these 5 steps:

  1. Join: Create an account through our app and upload photos of your driver’s license. It may take a few days to process your membership. (Android / iOS)
  2. Reserve: Reserve a vehicle in advance using the app or website.
  3. Pick Up: At your reserved time, simply use the app to unlock the vehicle.
  4. Drive: Unplug the vehicle from the charging station and begin your trip. Enjoy the drive!
  5. Drop: Return the car to the station where you began your journey. Simply reconnect the car to the charger and end your trip with the app.

Rates & Rules

  • One-time Nonrefundable Application Fee: $10 (This covers the cost of checking your driving record.)
  • Hourly Rate: $5 plus tax
  • Daily Rate: $50 plus tax
  • Mileage: First 150 miles are included; $0.45/mile for additional miles

Eligibility:

Carshare is open to members 21 years or older with a valid drivers’ license, clean driving record and valid credit, debit, or pre-paid card.
